BUI XUAN NGUYEN, Ph.D,  Founder and President

Dr. Bui Xuan Nguyen received his MSc in endocrinology from University of Kishinev (former Soviet Union) in 1974 and a PhD in Science of Life from University Pierre-Marie Curie (Paris VI, French) in 1989. He has worked as a pioneer who introduced advanced reproductive biotechnology and stem cell research into Vietnam. In 1982 Dr. Bui joined the embryo research group at INRA Jouy-en-Josas where he invented together with Prof Jean-Paul Renard for the first time in the world the term pregnancy derived from embryos frozen by rapid freezing. In 1998, he was invited to join the cloning team led by Prof. Y Tsunoda at Kinki University, Japan where he worked as a visiting scientist responsible for the developing of the new technique of vitrification for cryopreservation of embryos derived from somatic cell nuclear transfer.
Dr. Nguyen has led a number of national research projects supported by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology and international projects cooperating with partners from France, Italy, Singapore, Czech Republic, Thailand, New Zealand, Japan and the USA. He was invited professor at the Laboratory of Cancer Molecular of University Paris VI, invited scientist at National University of Singapore, at University of Pittsburgh-USA. He is also a member of the Society of Cryobiology, International Embryo Transfer Society (IETS), Asian Reproductive Biotechnology Society (ARB) and International Cell Organization (ICO), President of Asian Reproductive Biotechnology Society in 2015. He was proposer and co-organizer of the first governmental workshop to discuss the national strategy for stem cells R&D in Vietnam. He has published more than 160 scientific and other papers in various leading national and international journals
